A large majority of our crew members hold a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and complete ongoing safety and industry training through the Southwest Louisiana Safety Council, ensuring we meet the highest standards and maintain full eligibility to work in any plant or industrial facility.
About the Position
We are looking for candidates with a minimum or 2 years of verifiable CDL driving experience to drive and maintain our fleet of dump trucks, as well as work closely with our paving crews on delivery of hot mix asphalt and millings.
Responsibilities
• Hauling of asphalt, millings, and other materials
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
• Inspect loads to ensure that materials are secure
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Report defects, accidents, or violations immediately
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Must be willing to assist crews when necessary
• Assist with maintenance and cleanliness of vehicles when necessary
Qualifications
• Two years verifiable CDL driving experience
• Class A Commercial Driver’s License and Medical Certification Card
• M.V.R. with no recent moving or driving violations
• Must be able to pass drug screen
• Drivers must successfully pass Road Test and Physical Qualification and Examinations in accordance with DOT requirements
Skills
• Proven work experience as a truck driver
• Knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
• Use of defensive driving techniques
• Ability to operate both a manual and automatic transmission
Preferred Experience
• CDL driving, 2+ years
• Heavy Truck Driving, 2+ years
• Construction Experience
